Christmas Day in Kirkbymoorside

Look at the size of that prawn. once again Dorothy put on an incredible spread with a chicken inside a duck inside a chicken- a yorkshire specialty- called...'a dicken'- seriously!. Lots of brussel sprouts and chestnuts and something unusual- celeriac with blue cheese- very nice. all topped off with homemade Damson gin.

I would like to eat a dicken sometime. Sounds great. I think Christmas is a lot about eating as many animals as you can and if you can get them into each other so much the better. Sort of affirms our position in the fod chain perhaps. Christmas could also be about a whole lot of other stuff but no room or relevance in this pic for that!
